What is EMDR
Beyond Talk Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a gentle and effective therapy that helps people heal from past trauma, anxiety, and painful memories.
It works by helping your brain process difficult experiences in a new, less upsetting way. During EMDR, you’ll be guided to focus on certain memories while doing simple movements like following a light or tapping. This helps your brain "reorganize" the memory so it no longer feels overwhelming.
Many people find relief with EMDR when talk therapy alone hasn’t worked. It’s especially helpful for things like PTSD, anxiety, low self-esteem, or past events that still affect you today.
